So much has been going on that I have completely ignored updating what OMTA has done and is doing.

You know we passed the legislation last year to raise the registration (tag) fee. This put $9 a year (up from $1) into the State Recreational Vehicle (SRV) fund. Part of that legislation reduced the riding age with a parent. A major part is a group with the majority from motorized recreation to allocate those funds. I am happy to report the group is now in process of being appointed. All funds from the SRV fund must by law go for motorized recreation. 

Another important project is happening in North East Ohio. We are working with legislators, Community development and the park board to acquire a 20 mile siding for OHV recreation.

There is a new leader for the Van Wert project and it is starting to move again.

We have been contacted to assist a city in developing a motorized recreation area on public owned property for all types of motorized from 4x4 to OHMC.

Lastly the state is looking to use the Recreational Trails Program (RTP) and the funds generated from your registration (tag) fees for a new riding area.
